Born and raised in Rochester, New York, I moved to New York City at 17 to study at Circle in the Square Theatre School. I lived at the Vanderbilt YMCA, and for the first time in my life felt completely free. I said yes to every chance I could find, independent films, Shakespeare, anything that helped me grow as an artist. Over the next 20 years, I built a career in theater television and film. But acting gave me something far more valuable than credits. It taught me how to listen, how to empathize, how to be fully present with another human being. Acting showed me humanity. Today, I’ve come home to re-establish my roots and invest in the artistic community that first inspired me. I believe you don’t have to move to a major city to become a truthful, skilled actor. Honest, meaningful work can happen anywhere when you’re surrounded by people who care about the craft. That’s why I created Acting Honestly. My goal is to help actors trust themselves, connect truthfully, and tell stories that feel lived in.
